Docketing Trademarks

Edited

Your USPTO trademarks can be added to your docket automatically. For information regarding Automatic USPTO docketing, please see this article.

Click the Add Matter button located on the right side of the screen and select Trademark.

A window will open asking which jurisdiction the newly added trademark is in.

For trademarks registered with the USPTO and CIPO, we can automatically import the mark's data from the respective trademark database. To use this feature, simply enter USPTO or CIPO, and then enter application number or registration number.

For international trademarks and U.S. state trademarks, we have a connection with a third-party trademark database that can be used to quickly docket a trademark. To sync a mark, simply enter in the application and/or registration number, and the system will prompt you if a match has been found. Click here for more information regarding this data sync.

If a mark is unable to connect, you will need to enter matter details.

To add a status to for filing, start typing the mark's status in the box. Our sophisticated database has automatic deadline calculations for renewals in over 160 jurisdictions and will automatically calculate statutory deadlines based on your filing's status. To select a status that uses our calculations, simply begin typing in the status of the mark, and select the appropriate option that appears in the dropdown below. For more info, read our Using International / State Smart Statuses article.

A custom option can be added using the Assign a custom status button.

If the filing is in a jurisdiction not currently covered by our deadlines, you can docket any deadlines needed under the Timeline section on the right-hand side of the mark's page. You can also supplement statutory entries with your own custom entries.

For all docketed matters, you can add documents, notes, contacts & collaborators on the right side of the screen.
