Edited

The Alt Legal software allows you to add a custom tag to any matter. This can aide you in filtering for certain matters that may not share other filtering criteria, like clients that file under several different owner names, or matters handled by specific members within your organization.

Adding a Tag to a Matter

To add a tag to a matter, first go to the details page of that matter.

Next, change your view mode to edit:

At the bottom of the matter details section, you will see a list of tags. The tags in grey are system generated tags and cannot be removed.

There will be a text field next to the generated system tags that can be used to input your own tags.

  1. Type in the name of your custom tag. An option will appear below the field to add a new tag.

  2. Selecting Add a new tag will allow you to choose a color for your custom tag. Choose a color, and then click Apply to add the custom tag to your matter.

  3. Your custom tag will now appear next to the other tags. Scroll down and hit the Save button to confirm your changes.

Once you've used the tag once, it will be available for selection on other matters by typing the name in the text field.

Once you've used the tag once, it will be available for selection on other matters by typing the name in the text field.
