Adding a Custom Tag

The Alt Legal software allows you to add a custom tag to any matter. This can aide you in filtering for certain matters that may not share other filtering criteria.

Adding a Tag to a Matter

To add a tag to a matter, first go to the details page of that matter.

Next, change your view mode to edit:

At the bottom of the matter details section, you will see a list of tags. The tags in grey are system generated tags and cannot be removed.

There will be a text field next to the generated system tags that can be used to input your own tags.

  1. Type in the name of your custom tag. An option will appear below the field to add a new tag.
  2. Selecting "Add a new tag" will allow you to choose a color for your custom tag. Choose a color, and then click "Apply" to add the custom tag to your matter.
  3. Your custom tag will now appear next to the other tags. Scroll down and hit the "Save" button to confirm your changes.

Once you've used the tag once, it will be available for selection on other matters by typing the name in the text field.

Adding a Tag to an Entry

First, locate the entry you'd like to add a tag to, and click the pencil icon to edit the entry.

Click "More settings," and locate the section for tags below. The steps will be the same as above:

Filtering for Tags

To find matters with either a system tag or a custom tag, use the "Tag" filter menu option.

Start typing the name of the tag, and select the tag you'd like to search for in the drop-down menu.
