Customs Recordals

Edited

Every trademark and copyright docketed in Alt Legal has an optional Customs Recordal section. You can use this to store information like the Recordation or Reference Number, and use the Recordal Expiration field to track when to file the renewal.

In the Details of a matter (Edit View), you should see a section entitled "Customs Recordal". Click Add a Customs Recordal.

You can fill in any of the following:

  • Recordation Number – If provided, we'll automatically create a hyperlink to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection site for a search of the number entered.

  • Reference Number

  • Effective Date

  • Expiration Date – If provided, we’ll add an entry to your timeline reminding you to renew before it expires.

  • Grey Market Restricted?

  • Status

  • Covered Classes - We'll suggest the class numbers already filled out on the matter, simply use the checkboxes to make your selections.

  • Click Add a note to create a custom note

If you do not fill out the Expiration Date field, you can click Save to finish adding the Customs Recordal information.

If the expiration date was provided, click either Save and Create Timeline Entry or Save without Timeline Entry, depending on your preferences.

If you select the Save and Create Timeline Entry option, a purple entry will appear in the matter's timeline for the renewal:
